Statements and Conclusions



Generally 5 questions are covering in bank clerk exams from this topic.

Directions (1-5): In each question below are three statements followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to take the three given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the three statements disregarding commonly known facts.(UBI 06-02-2011)

Give answer (1): if only conclusion I follows.
Give answer (2): if only conclusion II follows.
Give answer (3): if either conclusion I or conclusion II follows.
Give answer (4): if neither conclusion I nor conclusion II follows.
Give answer (5): if both conclusion I and conclusion II follows.

1. Statements:
All the paints are colors.
All the links are paints.

Conclusions:
I. No varnish is paint.
II. All links are colors.

2. Statements:
Some kites are planes.
All planes are birds.
All birds are balloons.

Conclusions:
I. All birds are kites.
II. All planes are balloons.

3. Statements :
All actors are procedures.
Some procedures are directors.
Some singers are procedures.

Conclusions
I. Some actors are singers.
II. Some singers are directors.

4. Statements :
All movies are dramas.
All plays are dramas.
All dramas are films.

Conclusions:
I. All movies are films.
II. Some plays are not films.

5. Statements:
Some grains are cereals.
Some cereals are rice.
Some rice are wheat.

Conclusions:
I. Some grains are wheat.
II. Some wheat are cereals.

Conclusions:

10. Statements:
All colleges are institutions.
