Haryana to promote institutional deliveries

Haryana Government has introduced ‘Surakshit Maa Award Yojna’ to encourage the pregnant women for early ante natal registration.

Stating this at Chandigarh, an official spokesman said that this award would be given every month in the sub-centres of the districts selected for this year.

Women who would report for ante natal registration in the first trimester would become eligible to be registered for a draw of lottery every month in the sub centre.


Three women would be selected for a prize of Rs 300 every month and they would be given utility items like utensils, containers or food items worth the amount.

He said that this service would benefit those women who get themselves registered with sub-centre, in immunization programs of Health Department.

It will promote institutional deliveries and time to time health check up. In first phase, the award would be given in the district of Jhajjar, Mewat, Palwal and Bhiwani.

This scheme would be implemented in 508 sub-centres of Health Department in these districts including 122 sub centres of jhajjar.
